CURRICULUM VITAE

Artist Bio

Amber Barker is Canadian born and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2014.  Although trained as a Ceramicist, she uses a myriad of materials with a particular focus on affordability, the disposable, and easily accessible; a pursuit that began during her final year of study. Her works explore concepts of labour, time and gender validity in ways that aim to be both humorous and touching. She strives to create beautiful, thought-provoking work to inspire conversation and storytelling. She is currently the Artist-in-Resident at POST Detroit.
